WEBSPHERE ENGINEER

 

EDUCATION:

Bachelor's degree in a related technical field and 4 years related experience.

 

Work Location: Suitland, MD

 

U.S. Department of Commerce Security clearance will be required.

Must be a U.S Citizen.  U.S. Department of Commerce Security clearance will be required.

 

SKILLS AND QUALIFICATIONS:

• J2EE Application Server (WebSphere, Web Logic, Oracle Application Server, etc.) configuration and administration on Unix systems (3-5 years)
• Scripting Skills using either Shell, Perl, Python, Jython
• Performance and Availability Monitoring
• WebSphere Application Server
• WebSphere Edge Component
• Apache HTTP Server
• AIX and Linux Skills

 

POSITION DESCRIPTION:

Duties include maintaining and monitoring the status of Webspheres, deploying application builds to Webspheres in the various environments (Product Assurance, Internal Review, and External Production, contributing to the performance tuning and test activities, and developing software tools to support the system administration activities and application build and deployment process.

 

Work Environment:

Must be prepared to work evenings and weekends. Must be able to work independently with customers and able to meet project deadlines and work under pressure.  Must have excellent verbal/written communication skills.

 

The applicant must meet eligibility requirements. Also, the applicant must be a U.S. citizen, as it may be required to have a Government Security background investigation performed.
